A PROTON Saga, worth more than RM30,000, is the latest edition to the list of goodies offered at the Penang Bridge International Marathon (PBIM).

PBIM chairman Danny Law said the car was the main prize of the lucky draw for the run on Nov 16.

“We are also giving away a motorcycle, complimentary stays from various hotels and two units of electrical treadmills worth RM2,800 each.

“A total of RM121,200 in cash prizes will be given to the marathon winners,” Law said.

Law, who is also Penang Tourism Development, Culture, Arts and Heritage Committee chairman, said the number of marathon participants had reached 3,000 and that the organising committee expected more to sign up by Oct 30.

“This is the first time PBIM has set up online registration and payment via credit card to enable interested participants from other states as well as overseas to take part in this event,” he said.

Registration booths are also open at Penang Tourism Information Centre at 118, Lebuh Acheh, Penang Tourism Development office on Level 53, Komtar and at Queensbay Mall on the ground floor opposite Coffee Bean.

Mobile registration stations will also accept registration from 7am to 9am and 4.30pm to 7pm on weekends at the Botanical Gardens, Penang Municipal Park, Metropolitan Park, Bukit Mertajam Mengkuang Dam and the Cherok Tok Kun recreational park in Bukit Mertajam.
