Forms download

Recently I change my free online storage from ripway.com to hotlinkfiles.com. The ripway.com locked my account saying my account exceed 150mb bandwidth quota. Even during locked period, my account still exceeds the quota - Apa barang nih…

So cemuih and fed-up send/received email from ripway.com support technical seeking for release and solution, I sign-up another free online storage - hotlinkfiles.com.

Good thing about their services, they provide numbers of files being downloaded.

..as capture today at 1pm.

And those who send to me running event info and registration form for sharing, I would like to say thank you very much. It really helps our running community.

To KL marathon runners this Sunday, All the best, have fun and enjoy your run. For sure there will lots of MJ songs will be playing on the run. And I recall my post on MJ quote..

Lies run sprints, but the truth runs marathons. The truth will win this marathon in court.

Report Malakoff 26km

Usually i used to measure my racing event with my PB. Trying to break personal best (PB) time and beat myself. Although my PB was couple of years ago but still.. i paste on my mind. Who know.. maybe my legs strong enough to drag me faster to finish line. Actually this is my first 26km run race but i hoping to break my 21km PB and another 5km is a bonus.

For last 2 months i get back on road again running and jogging and some cross training on weekend. I ran once in 2 days. Kaki no so good nowadays. 1 day run and 1 day rest. Between that months i only did 1 long run - 15km. Enough to force myself sign-up a 26km category a day before race. It was a last minutes decision while 2 weeks ago i said - NO.

Running thru Gottlieb Road

At starting line, Taman Belia
The event flag-off on time, we run thru Jalan Mount Erskine, Jalan Fettes passing Kampung Belachan and continue thru Jalan Lembah Permai. A new road for me. Never drive thru these road but.. i will remember these road forever - Duh! Its hilly roads. Ascend - descend - ascend - descend non stop like no flat until getting in Jalan Tanjong Bungah at 8km distance. Really-really suffered.

Passing 10km distance at Tanjong Bungah Hotel i felt really thirsty. Throat run dry. Like engine out of petrol. Although still early morning but i felt low humid - I took 3 cup of plain water. But 2km after i felt thirsty again. I don't know why. I already telan 2 cycling bottles of water last night. Body felt dry and after 1h 20mins running.. no water station. Engine jam. Kaput and start walking.

That time 90% my heart say to call a day. Pin-out the bib, took right to Jalan Gottileb and walk back to Taman Belia. But my mind said "Why not walk and have fun listening mp3 songs along the coastline?"

Right.. It was beautiful morning walking/running along Persiaran Gurney. I stopped at one of the restaurants and ask a permission to drink a water from taps - Pundek haus nak mampus. Think.. my tank full of water now. Hard to run back.

After 3 cups of water at DS3@15km distance, I was run+walk+jog and enjoy my mp3 songs. These songs really helps me to forget the distance covered. Walk+jog+walk+jog until finish line, along the way sempat sembang with one of my blog readers - Danny. Nice meet you.

So my 21km PB still remain unbroken. I finished far from my target 2:39min and i have a photo finish captured by Malakoff committee and bola2api. I enjoy myself, dapat sembang with running friends again and glad i could run awhile from bored office works - Felt recharge again.

Report New Balance Klang Pacers Half Marathon

By Aiman Cheah

Date: 7th June 2009 (Sunday) | 6.30am
Venue: Setia Alam Welcome Centre

One event which I thought would be part of my preparations for the coming Ipoh Star Walk. Actually, I am still far from my best. The best will never come as long as the body does not have enough rest to recuperate. With only two weeks to go and I do not see any possiblity of 'serious' training, I can safely say that I can kiss the medal goodbye..... However, as usual, I will certainly put up a fight, albeit a losing battle.......

Quite disappointed that my students did not turn up for the event. One is the runner while the other just want to explore Setia Alam. Quite a waste of RM30 - late registration. Or else one could have run and get the finisher medal and enjoy the food provided by the organizer.

Able to woke up at 5.00 despite sleeping slightly past midnight. Got ready by 5.55 a.m and drove to school. As expected, none of the students were there. I had called them earlier but no reply. Anyway, waited till 6.10 a.m. before I finally drove off.

Reached Setia Alam at around 6.35 a.m. The 21km runners had just begun their run. RELA on duty did not allow me to turn into the Welcome Centre. Instead, directed me to go up the flyover and to get there from behind. Very stupid of me to follow his order. Should have just parked by the roadside like some of the other runners.

By the time I reached the 'car park' it was already 6.48 a.m. Thought it was still early and had time to warm up and do some stretching. How wrong was I. While walking to the starting line, the gun went off. The person with the hailer was telling runners that the 11km event had started. So, I put on my spectacles strap and jogged to the starting line - gave me reporting card in exchange of the ribbon.

Jogged slowly for warming up. Do not really have the mood to run. After some time, one runner called out "Uncle, Aiman". He went fast to catch up with the others. He had come later than me! If I am not mistaken, his name is Hafiz. I met him at the Walk for the Children event in Sunway University College last week.

At the first water station, I saw Runwitme. Decided to pick up the pace a little bit because I had had enough warm up. I stopped at all the water stations - 3 altogether. I think stopping at these stations would be better than stopping for 'rest' which I would normally do when I over exert myself.

I completed the race in 1hr 04mins 22secs. The actually time will be a minute or two more. I pressed my stopwatch only when I began running. I was given a slip of paper which showed that I was 104th in Men Open category. Many good runners were not here. With such timing, it would normally means more than 300 at Dataran Merdeka.

I must say that this is the first time a running event is started much earlier than the scheduled time. This is also the first time that I was misinformed regarding the collection of race pack. I received a call from The Gardens New Balance informing me that the race pack can be collect at its office.

My wife answered the phone as I left it at home to recharge. I felt weird and called the person and he confirmed that. Too bad that I did not ask for his name. Being busy and I hardly go to Midvalley though I stay just a stone's throw away from it, I went a week later and ask the worker there.

I was a little surprised when nobody own up and did not even want to admit when I showed the phone number that appeared on received call on my phone. I called using the number and true enough, the phone rang. My curiosity was answered. There must be something wrong happening.

When I went to collect the race pack at Setia Alam, the person in charge was very helpful and polite saying that there was some problems with registration at The Gardens. My name does not appear in the registration list while my student's gender had been changed to "Binti". Clearly written, category F. How can become "G"?

Before registration, I e-mailed to ask about the registration and guess what? I have not received any reply until today. I e-mailed twice on two occasions just in case I got the address wrong. Almost giving up to participate in this event, considering it is in the middle of the school holidays.

SMS to one of the persons listed in the entry form (those downloaded from the internet was not really clear) and got a short reply to get the form from New Balance outlets. Actually I wanted to know if I could just deposited the entry fees into the given a/c and collect the race pack on the scheduled date. Then, I need not go to The Gardens, which I hardly step foot at.

For Port Dickson Half Marathon, I just deposited the entry fees into the a/c and e-mail the bank in slip. Save time and money as I do not need to send the registration form by post.

Ipoh Road Runners was the best. I send them a self-addressed envelope with RM0.35 stamps affixed requesting for 3 entry forms. They used their own envelope and send my 20 forms! That's what I call, promoting!

Adidas outlet in The Gardens I registered 5 entries and requested for 5 entry forms (the ones downloaded from the internet was not clear) only to be told that I could take one or two at the most. I could make my own copies........... I returned them all except one. It makes wonder why they prefer to simply give the forms to runners when not requested and refused to give to runners who genuinely need it???

To sum up my experiences, when something go wrong, do we blame the organization or the individuals we are dealing with?

Report Shoe String Run

By Aiman Cheah

Date: 31 May 2009 (Sunday)
Time: 7.30 a.m.
Venue: Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Bukit Kemuning (2)

Woke up as early as 5.00 a.m. However, by the time I was ready to leave the house it was already 6.30 a.m. Get a call from my student. Supposed to meet him at 6.30 in school and led the way to the venue.

Anyway, the father decided to go there on his own. With the change of programe, I walked to my regular 'news stand' to get my daily papers. By the time I returned to the van, it was already 6.40. I did not have to push the panic button as it would not take more than half an hour to reach there.

True enough, I was there by 10 minutes past 7. I asked my wife to register herself and Afiqah first as I need to pump in some air for the stroller. Akmal, my partner was still sleeping. When all was done, it was almost 7.20 and jogged slowly to the school. Every one was already at the starting line. Registered myself and started from the back, as usual. That was a common signal that I was not a contender.

I had a pleasant surprised when I crossed the finishing line with Akmal. I was given the '2nd position' slip. My watched showed 19mins 55secs. I guess the value of the hamper was well more than RM200. That was a real good luck. My wife was lucky too for she won one of the lucky draws.

Report Walk for the Children

By Aiman Cheah

Date: 30 May 2009 (Saturday)
Time: 8.30 a.m.
Venue: Sunway University College

A good event as part of my training for the coming Ipoh Star Walk. I did 27 mins 02 secs for the 4km walk. The time was rather slow as it was not suppose to be a race. Anyway, since some of the participants went fast, I just followed suit. I did not push hard as I need to make sure not to pick up any injury as the following day would be the Shoe String Run.

I liked the speech by Hannah Yeoh who flagged off the event. If one was down and out, she would be the one to be sought for inspiration and motivation. A humble lady who kept her speech short and sweet yet enlightening on the issue of urban poverty.

The performances by Urban Groove Dance Network, Elite Allstars Cheerleading and Friend of Albert were entertaining. It is a pity that the turn up was poor.

Report Komtar Tower Run

My first run event for this year. Being safe-mode for 6 month after Unity Run at AIMST last november, slowly my weight gain miligram by miligram, gram by gram until up to kilograms. My trousers unable to cater my new belly size. Sometimes i wearing unbutton trouser and tighten with belt.

Anyway that was 2 months ago story. Now i'm back on road again. Doing an easy run and jogging. Slowly i pickup the endurance back. Take out the roadbike once a month on easy sunday ride to Tanjung Dawai and went swimming with Alauddin+Jasmin on Saturday - Feel good again wearing same trousers.

The last Komtar Tower Run was held on 2002. 7 years gone missing. This is my first Komtar Tower Run since i start running in 2003 and first time on top of Komtar.

As usual before flag off, i meet up + chat with friends. Said hi, hey, hoi and also making new friends. From SP Runners Club only me and Thean Seng show up. Others not interested. Same also with BM Leopard Club - only Alex took part.

The main reason why kakis not join because this event offer 2 categories for men - Boys and Men Open. Should be at least 3 categories - Men Veteran. Another reason, no finishers medal offer. The organizer could reduce cash prize abit and provide top20 or top50 finish medals. That will gain more runners

At prize ceremony, they gave a plastic trophy to top 10. I think, it looks like old fashion nowdays - Keeping 1~2feet of trophy. Accidently all top10 for men open won by Kenyan (except no.7 won by R.Muniady). Do you think they carry the trophy back home to Kenya?.. Medal?

Ok! Back to my running.
After flag-off I running around Komtar about <2km before heading to level 5 to start climbing the stairs. The organizer should flag-off runners in small group by group. otherwise it would jammed the stairs. I had to menyelinap between walking runners to continue running and climbing - Duh! Semangat nak lari hancus..

Komtar building have 64 levels but the finish line at level 61. Reaching at level 30, the stairs quite free. But i'm too exhausted. Hup-hap-hup-hap. Throat felt dry. Mata berpinau-pinau - I'm not taking any breakfast yet. Felt want to vomit but nothing out.

Continue walking faster climbing with 2 two stair case at once and finally i reach level 61 in 21.44min - My personal best in KOmtar. Ya! right, it is first my first Komtar Tower Run. Don't know my position but i quickly go washroom and vomit.

Compare to KL Towerthon event, the Komtar stairs is wide a bit. And i think they should lay longer running distance to create more gap before climbing the Komtar.

Heading to prize ceremony to..

The Dome - Dewan Tunku

Legs massage

Alex and new friend - Mohd Saad

Top10 Girls

Top10 SuperGirls

Top10 Supermen

oldest participation - Khoo Hock Yew and Nancy Yeow
